It is great news for iPhone users, as well as iPod touch and iPad. OBD applications for iOS devices have been existing quite a while. Unlike android OS phones, iOS devices use Wifi adapters. Wifi adapters were more expensive than Bluetooth adapters a couple of years ago. As time goes on, Wifi adapters are getting cheaper, and now they don’t have much difference in price between the same grade of adapters. However, OBD iPhone app or other iOS apps have been expensive. A lot of users hesitate to get apps and miss opportunities to use these great gadgets. Finally, a decent OBD application for iOS is released! Engine Link can show pretty much the same things as DashCommand or Rev, but it is really cheap. Here is a demo.

It is very clear to see and easy to use. You can customize a display in lots of ways. Engine Link can be downloaded for only $5.99.  The app is compatible with iPhone 3GS or later, iPod touch (3rd generation or later, and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

Generally, iOS devices need Wifi adapters to make it work, but there have been always some ways.
Engine Link says “If you have bluetooth OBD adaptor, please contact support@ksolution.org for instruction before you purchase this app.” It’s better to ask them for details.
